Firehouse Project

Lakewood-Mountair Station #1

The West Metro Fire Rescue Foundation is currently raising funds to construct a historic representation of the original Lakewood-Mountair Fire Station #1 at the Lakewood Heritage Center near W. Ohio Ave. & S. Wadsworth Blvd. This two-story, 2,900 square foot structure will serve as a permanent home for fire safety and life safety education programs. It will also honor the dedication of local fire fighters past, present and future. The design of the museum is intended to reflect circa 1946 with apparatus and equipment and will display the original 1939 International Harvester Fire Engine that served Station #1, also known as Big Red.

Campaign Update:

Since August 2013, we have raised more than $75,000 toward the $1.5 million campaign goal. The Firehouse Project has a variety of Giving Opportunities and events you or your company may be interested in supporting and attending.
